The advantage of a free-standing external pole tent is you can pitch them anywhere, even if you can’t get a stake in the rocky ground. With its built-in rain fly, you can pitch them in a down pour without getting the insides wet.
MOUNTAIN STAR 2 PERSON TENT

Coming in at just over three pounds, the Mountain Star 2 Person Tent is Lightweight, durable, and storm worthy. It’s free-standing, double-wall, three-season tent with an exterior pole design.
This tent is the optimal choice for two people, or one person that likes a lot of room. It features a dual vestibule, so each person has their own door and storage for packs, gear, and weapon. It’s asymmetrical footprint offers plenty of shoulder room.
It’s considered a three-season tent because the rain fly does not extend to the ground level, and the tent body uses mesh. This promotes breathability, minimizing internal condensation.

This is the most popular configuration and how it comes when you order it. It features a mesh inside body with integrated bathtub style waterproof floor that clips into the external body/rain fly.

It shares common features as the Mountain Star, like dual vestibules, asymmetrical footprint, built in rain fly, and external poles. Although it has all the full-feature upgrades you’d expect out of a legit four-season tent.
